Our Churchyard
We have over 1700 headstones/memorials in our churchyard and are immensely grateful to Ted Bowman who spent weeks during the summer of 2024 recording the details from both outside and inside the church. Unfortunately a small number were illegible but most are recorded on these pages.
The maps below highlight that the churchyard has been divided into multiple separate sections (each represented by a letter or letters), plus a single section covering all monuments inside the church itself.
Following the maps are a collection of inscription documents for each section (in PDF format) and an overarching Index Table document, the latter listing all headstones alphabetically by surname and giving a unique reference for the image of that headstone. The Index Table is a good way of browsing by name.
Please also feel free to try our headstone image search – using partial or full names, or the unique ‘Image No’ from the inscription documents, you can access the individual headstone and monument images.

Headstone Image Search
Thanks to Ted Bowman’s painstaking work documenting and photographing the churchyard, we are now able to offer an image search facility that allows us to search the large library of images taken by him of all headstones and other monuments.
Use the search box below to locate any images that match your search. You can search using:
- Partial or full name (check for spelling if you are unable to find what you’re looking for)
- The ‘Image No’ from the Inscription Books above.
Click on any individual image from the results to expand to a larger size. Then just click outside the image to return back to the previous view.
Your results will appear here after you search.
